I was born in Genoa but grew up in Sestri Levante on the Ligurian coast until I moved to Florence for University.
I started to work at the ABC school in Florence in 1991 as a teacher but I also accompanied students on afternoon activities and the excursions. I was a good listener for their needs and their wants and after a few years I was given the responsibility to organise the extra-curricular activity program.
I am a translator and interpreter in English and German and I am a licensed tour guide for Florence and province.
The languages that I have studied as well as my practical and constructive nature have helped me to work at reception and I am now the director of the school.
I like to organise and resolve problems. Work for me is always a challenge and a search for new solutions which improve and enrich the stay of the students.
I also like to cook and I actually often cook with students at my house.
For years I have had the big dream of opening another ABC school and therefore when I was presented with the possibility to do so in 2015, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands! The new ABC school is located in Sestri Levante on the Bay of Silence where I went when I was little.
Now I can say that dreams do come true!
I can’t wait to see you in Tuscany and Liguria!
Despite my name, I am 100% Tuscan. I was born in Florence and I have always lived here. I started to work at the ABC school as a teacher in 2001 and a few years later i was put in charge of the activity program, communication and educational materials. Now you can find me at reception, in class, on walks or visiting museums: I am everywhere, in Italian we say just like parsley!
I have a degree in literature with a specialisation in art history and I am a licensed tour guide for Florence and province. Having the possibility to teach our students about the artistic treasures and traditions of my city is a great pleasure for me.
Im a yoga teacher and in my free time I go on walks, write stories for children and volunteer for the Italian Red Cross.
I can’t wait to see you in Florence!
I’m Austrian by birth, but Fiorentine by heart. In fact, I’ve lived in Florence since 1996. In these years I have gained many experiences and lots of knowledge that could be useful to you and your stay in Florence.
It is my pleasure, dear students, to respond to your every query both before and after your arrival in Florence. Just like my collegues, I do everything possible to make you feel at home and I am always ready to advise and listen to you all.
Being a foreigner myself, I know what it takes to learn Italian and I can assure you that it is a wonderful experience to be part of a multicultural environment! I love living in Florence, but when I get the chance, I return home to Austria to spend time with my parents with whom I have maintaned a great relationship. Often it is them who come to visit me making the most of the chance to visit the city and Tuscany.
